Film: Creativity and Analysis
The remarkable diversity of Cornell's film major offers an exciting integration of critical thinking and creativity. Students explore the history of cinema as well as the evolution of digital media and arts and production across multiple platforms. The unique interdisciplinary nature of the program allows students to specialize in their interest areas and work in any genre of filmmaking. Students also have access to an impressive range and number of films shown through Cornell Cinema, one of the nation's top campus film exhibition programs.

Film classes open to all
Cornell's film program offers a major and minor to interested students. Non-major students are welcome to take film classes through our department in the areas of theory, analysis and production. We also are pleased to closely collaborate with Cornell Cinema, the Department's satellite movie house, to offer students the opportunity to view a variety of mainstream and
eclectic films.

Visiting Filmmakers
Marilyn Rivchin Students from Film 478 met with Tim Squyres ’81 to talk about his work as a feature film editor on Ang Lee and Robert Altman films.
In addition, Cornell Cinema regularly brings a variety of filmmakers and other film professionals to campus to present their work.
With an extensive network of alumni working in the film industry, there are a variety of ways students can participate in hands-on internships, including the
